Vans Warped Tour 2009

This year marks Vans Warped Tour's 15th year on the road, and the crew behind VWT are seasoned professionals. While the sweltering heat and overpriced water may have you running scared, Warped Tour is more than worth it. With well over 6 stages on each stop, and more bands than you can count for roughly $35, Warped Tour is a killer deal, especially considering the amount of free goodies you'll come home with and the countless opportunities to meet some of your favorite musicians. Plus, you don't have to attempt a road trip to attend - just walk over to Tower City Amphitheater.

Bands worth your while: 3oh!3, A Day To Remember, Alexisonfire, Bad Religion, Breathe Carolina, Dance Gavin Dance, Flogging Molly, I Set My Friends on Fire, Saosin, The Devil Wears Prada, Underoath, and the always brilliant Westbound Train.

Cornerstone 2009

Highly regarded as one of the biggest Christian (or otherwise) music events of the year, Cornerstone festival is an annual festival that takes place this year June 29-July 4 near Bushnell, Illinois. This festival represents literally every style of contemporary Christian music out there, and brings thousands to the area. Tickets are a little expensive ($135) but will get you into every day of the festival and allow you campground access.

In addition to countless bands, Cornerstone includes praise and worship services, seminars, games, youth events, and (literally) so much more.

Bands worth your while: Affiance (from right here in Cleveland), A Plea For Purging, Anberlin, Army of Me, Becoming the Archetype, The Chariot, Children 18:3, Copeland, Deas Vail, The Devil Wears Prada, Emery, Family Force 5, For Today, Gwen Stacy, Haste the Day, Los Lonely Boys, Manic Drive, mewithoutYou, MyChildren MyBride, Oh Sleeper, Owl City, Project 86, Red, Relient K, Secret and Whisper, Shiny Toy Guns, The Showdown, Underoath, and Wavorly. And that's not even half of who's playing, kiddos.

Crystal Castles

Bonnaroo

A four-day music festival that takes place June 11 through 14 on a 700-acre farm about 60 miles out of Nashville Tennessee, Bonnaroo is one of those festivals where the hefty price might actually be worth it, if - if, you can swing the scratch.

Clocking in at nearly $225, embarking on the sojourn to our generation's feel-good hippie jam is not to be undertaken lightly, even if you factor each day as a separate concert, costing $56.25. The website even has payment plans for their stupidly expensive tickets! Still, that's the bad news. Here's the good news.

Bands worth your while: Al Green, Andrew Bird, Ani DiFranco, Animal Collective, Ben Harper, Bela Fleck & Toumani Diabate, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Crystal Castles, Dear and the Headlights, Elvis Costello, Girl Talk, MGMT, Paul Oakenfold, Phish, Public Enemy, Shadows Fall, Snoop Dog, The Decemberists, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, TV On The Radio, Wilco, and like 200 bajillion more. And they're not even done adding bands on the bill.

Thank you thank you thank you internet layout guy for using Deas Vail as the pic without even knowing that it would make me uber excited. Hahah. They're semi-local to my area, and really amazing musicians. (Continued…)
